Our Vision For 2009-2010
|
Since 2001, we worked in the Centro Cristiano Bethania church in
Panama City, Panama as Associate Pastors. We organized the
Children’s Ministry of the church, trained leaders and gradually
worked ourselves out of a job in the Children’s Ministry. Gino was Youth Pastor also, for most of the 7 years at Centro Cristiano Bethania. In November 2007, our family moved west of Panama City to the bed- room community of Arraijan. It is about 20 minutes from the city, depending on traffic. According to statistics, the population is around 187,000, but those statistics are changing, due to the amount of housing developments that are in construction, or have been built in the last year or two. We have seen the literally thousands of people moving to this area, and the need to open churches, to meet the needs of these people. In March 2008, we rented a facility and started services on Good Friday. In a few short weeks, the church has grown to 55 people. Many children are coming and some have brought their parents. We believe that in reaching the children, we can reach families. Our goal is to raise up a strong church in this area that will send forth other laborers into the harvest fields nearby. We still continue with our vision to reach the children throughout the country of Panama with the Gospel. We recognize that as two individuals, we cannot travel and reach all the children of Panama. But, by training other children’s leaders from the different provinces of Panama, they can return to their areas of ministry, much better equipped to reach the children in their communities. In the past seven years, we have been able to train hundreds of children’s leaders throughout the country of Panama and reach several thousand children with the Love of Jesus. |
